I got a quarter mile down the road and felt the pain and then looked down in horror! SO, turned around after 1 mile and walked home...try again tomorrow...

Catching up log...

I haven't been keeping up and I started walking daily a couple miles just to get the blood flowing and stretch out the muscles. I have had recurring right hip/lumbar pain which I am taking a Prednisone pack for. I hope to be painfree in the future and continue my exercise routine. Getting up at 7:30 am to stretch and walk has made a positive impact on my mood already. I'm liking the new routine!!!

It makes my per mile time somewhat faster and more along the lines of my race times which are measured more accurately. Hmmm...I really pushed but had calf cramps the entire way. 2/13/10 1,528.98 9.18 mi 1:41:36 I got out and did the long run for the week. KJ joined me a portion of it while Kent rode the bike. It was quite chilly and cloudy to start but the sun came out and warmed things up enough that I had to change into a short-sleeved Under Armor shirt for the rest of the run! I have to keep up these long runs for the half marathon so I don't have any injuries that could sideline me down the road. Not easy to go out for a couple hours of running but I look at the whole picture and it makes perfect sense. My body thanks me in subtle ways, too.

2/12/10 1,519.8 2.8 mi 46:07 morning walk - this walk was along Lockwood to SCC and back to the Heronwood entrance of Westbourne and back around to the house. It was a little rainy at the beginning but slowed to a drizzle for a few blocks. 50 degrees

2/11/10 1,517.0 2.4 mi 43:20 morning walk - I am figuring out how far I want my morning walks to be. Today it was around Westbourne and then down Lockwood Blvd to Old Lockwood Blvd and back. It was a very cold morning - around 39 degrees when I got out!

2/06/10 1,509.6 3.1 mi 29:12 Hagerty Husky Trot 5K - ran with Teagan - my fastest time since the mid 90's! KJ and Morgan walked the distance. Teagan came in 8th for the adults! Great day for her. I wasn't too far behind.

Slow time, fast time. I go as I am able. The 5 miles I did today was after a full workout on Thursday. My calves are very sore. My hips/lower back are getting better...stronger, I think. That tells me what I need to do.
