Diabetes Sucks!!!
I don't like it! I don't want it! But I've got it! And once you have it, you always have it. But I can do something about it and that is what this blog is about. My journey to better health and wellness. Yes, for the rest of my life!!!
.As of March, My goal of 1,000 miles walked was surpassed by 27 miles! At this momentum, I will have and extra hundred or so miles by the end of the year.
.I have lost 13 lbs since the beginning of the year, also. And a total of 35 lbs since last fall.
.COOL!

.RBS - noon (three hours after OJ and oatmeal) - 92 - Go Figure!!!.So, I can't figure out this blood sugar thing. It was high when I got up at 8:00 am and after eating fruit and cream oatmeal with added plain oatmeal and half of a banana. And after my usual morning OJ with pills, I only had a few cups of coffee with Splenda and half n half only to have a 92 Random Blood Sugar (RBS) a few hours later. I just don't get it. But, I still am in constant watch of what I eat. I may have a "splurge" here and there but I sure keep tabs on how often. Not that that even means anything. Oh well, I'll just keep plugging along. The A1C is the real test of where my blood sugars are over a 3 month period so that one counts as being more accurate.. I took some time off from walking as I wasn't in "top" form last week and this weekend. It felt good to relax some. I am glad to be back walking today. It was a great day for it. I look forward to another month of walking goal achievement and to continue to lose weight and find new clothes to fit better. My capris are hanging on me! Not that that's a bad thing!.
.1:48:34.46/272/1,000.I decided that since I didn't walk for two days and I won't be walking tomorrow (well, not an official walk-for-5-miles walk), it would be a good idea to walk a little extra. So, I walked the two miles south and then my usual 5 miles north. It was a crazy weather day temperature-wise. It was cool this morning at 60. At noon it was just 70 and still felt like in the 60's. By the time I started my walk at 5:40 pm, it felt like it wa 85!!! The sun was hot. As the time went on, though, I could feel it cool back down again. Now, it is 64 at 11 pm. Warmer than last night but still a cool evening/night temp..Tomorrow is a day at WDW. We are going to Animal Kingdom first and then Hollywood Studios for dinner and maybe a ride or two. So, I will be walking just not my usual pace. Still, the steps will count in the fight against getting old!.

I cannot believe that I didn't post my walk on Saturday! Geez!!! Well, I know I walked because I remember walking out the back door as Kent and KJ were putting mulch in the backyard.
.
Today's walk was a fast one. It is about 65 degrees this afternoon and just right for a good push in the "step-it-up-a-notch" department. I was very happy to be below one-nine. As the weather warms up, I know I will have to push myself to keep up with the 1:15 again. The summer/fall heat is a killer down here in FL!
.
.1:13:33.43/255/1,000.Good walk. A bit sore but what the heck! It will take a few weeks for me to get back in the groove. The weather is warming up so I don't walk until 6 pm. I may have to make some changes in how I do dinner. It will interfere unless I cook before I walk.
.
.I had a wonderful massage. The calves were really sore but I know I needed them "kneaded" so I did my slow breathing and felt much better afterwards. I am ready to rumble as my friend Linda Wellman always says!!! Tomorrow will be a walking day! .
.Weight - 159.5 lbs..FBS - 118.I am taking a break from walking for a few days while my blisters on my foot heal. (Not heel!).My blood sugar can easily be attributed to the big mac, large fries and large choclate/shamrock mixed shake I had for dinner last evening! I am not proud of the FBS but I really was satisfied after eating that meal. Back to eating better this week. I indulged for a while!.I am pleased that my weight has broken the 160 lbs mark. It was just the incentive I needed to move on...though, I won't be walking 47 miles each time I need to break a plateau!!! LOL
