Diabetes Sucks!!!

I don't like it! I don't want it! But I've got it! And once you have it, you always have it. But I can do something about it and that is what this blog is about. My journey to better health and wellness. Yes, for the rest of my life!!!

Yesterday's walk take four...

I pushed a little bit harder with this walk as my legs felt better. No pain in my hamstrings or shins or ankles. It was a good walk with a lot more humidity...something that will be the norm, I guess, until winter again!

Yesterday's walk...

.
Slow again but picked up a little from the day before. I can't explain why I have these days but they are real. I hope I will be moving a bit quicker for the next few walks. It really gets me down when I can't perform at my peak all the time. Yes, menopause symptoms are a big part of it but I was hoping that being more active would kep me at a better frame of mind...it isn't.

Slow going today...

Yes, time was slow but I was walking with Kent and he can't walk as fast as I can. I would have had a slower time, anyway. It was 89 degrees when we went out. I think this summer will be harder for me than I anticipated.

On the first half of the walk, my hair kept getting in my face and that only means one thing,...
.
...on the way back, I will be against the wind and no hair in my face. I plugged along like a trooper and did a good time with 84 degrees temps! My legs are feeling it tonight...no pain, no gain!!! My muscles will be thanking me.

How Karen Got Her Groove Back...

85 degrees when I began my walk today at 6:20 pm!!! Now, it is 78 at 7:48 pm. It was a good walk...steady, even pace. As I was reflecting about the last several months, I came to realize that I have come a damn long way. I feel the best I have ever felt...body, mind and soul. It reflects the quote by Gandhi that was my first rubber stamp I bought from Close To My Heart back in 1999. It was a quote that I looked at, admired and said, I hope to get there someday...

I'm there now! I'm in my groove!!!
