Diabetes Sucks!!!

I don't like it! I don't want it! But I've got it! And once you have it, you always have it. But I can do something about it and that is what this blog is about. My journey to better health and wellness. Yes, for the rest of my life!!!

Today was PF. I took KJ for a late lunch to Sarku at the mall and then we went to PF for a workout. Today was the last day for the one-week-great-deal-first-of-the-year-sign-up. There were at least 20 people waiting in line by the door to speak to someone and 8 people sitting at tables signing up. Karl said they signed up 150 people yesterday and 250 people on Monday!!! Holy cow!!! I was glad to see so many people wanting to start a new year's resolution. Unfortunately, many of them won't be coming much at all. And cancelling memberships before they ever wear in their new shoes and workout clothes. *sigh*
.
So, I didn't have a choice of elyptical. I just took the first one I could. The machines weren't a problem getting to. Phew! I had to return home to get out and walk/run, too!!! It was a later than usual walk/run and a bit cooler so I wore a jacket. It is one of those kinds that keeps you warm, which it did and I was sweating and hot so I had to wrap it around my waist half way through! Funny how that happened.

You might be wondering what the color is mentioned above, well, I wear a different color t-shirt each time I go out and I write on them the date, number of the walk (over with now) and the miles I've walked. So, since they get backed up in the wash, I have to jot it down to remember which one I wore which day. I could write it down beforehand but it could change and I don't want to have any "boo-boos".

I burned up the turf tonight. Well, it's still dusk but I got out at 5 pm. Luckily the days are gettting longer again (since the winter solstice) and I can do my walk/run later each day, if needed. The weather was 76 when I started. A great temp as it was cooling a little each minute. I'm wheezing a bit at the end but I could smell burning embers from a distance. I may need my inhaler again. Especially when the leaves start budding and pollen is in the air. A new year and new growth. I look forward to more improvements.
