Yes, I lost a few pounds today!!! Walking almost 18 hours can do that to you!!! I just had to weigh myself to see what a walk of this magnitude would do to my body.
.
I feel accomplished! I am psyched tonight! I did what I went out to do and achieved my goal of completing the Relay For Life entirely...walking all the hours allowed (we didn't actually start the laps until 7:15pm). I walked 234 laps and that was the equivalent of 47 miles.

.
I will take some time off to re-coop my muscles and walk slowly for a couple of days. Then I will be hard at work to achieve next year's goals, whatever they may be!!!

Today's the day...

Well, I'm in preparation for the next 18 hours (starting at 6 pm). I am getting my clothes ready and unfortunately, it may rain. There's a 40% chance from 6 pm until 3 am. So, I am getting my poncho out and several pairs of shoes. I won't walk if it's thundering and lightning but otherwise, I will.

I am prepared as best I can be and I just hope to have a nice walking experience. It may the start of more things to come.

Countdown to Friday's Relay For Life is moving along. Nice even walking pace. Good finish time. And a great blood sugar. I had a great big brunch including a piece of chocolate ganache 4 layer cake to celebrate my BFF's monumental 50th birthday at about noon. With lots of water since, I am feeling fine and at 94, I think that my blood sugar couldn't be better. I'm over 200 miles for the year and that's 20% of my walking goal. Successful day and a full glass!

My time is steady. It feels good to be close to 200 miles already. I have increased the sit-ups since they are "doable".

The weather has been nice these last two days. I need to workout with the machines at least once this week. My weight is staying in the low 160's still. I hope to see it lower by the end of the month below 160. That will be a first in many years!!!

The outlook for Friday includes a 40% chance of rain. YIKES!!! I am doing my dance to stop the rains until late Saturday night...or before 6 pm on Friday!

I wasn't in a good frame of mind for most of last week. I don't know why. It was also very windy and rainy Thursday, Friday and Saturday with barometric pressures changing frequently. I had numerous headaches and just decided to take a rest and not push myself. I didn't expect the fast time I had today but I guess that's what happens when you let your body rest and relax for some time. So, not all bad. I may have to rethink my walking schedule and goal. I think I might benefit more from doing cross training and not as much walking. I will think about it more before I make any decisions.

Tomorrow will start a new week for weight and FBS. I think everything will be in order. At least I hope it will be. This is my sewing and Bunko week so I will be out and about. I haven't been to my workout place so I want to try and go there, too. Friday is the Relay. I want to be injury free for that so I won't be doing any walking on Thursday.
