Diabetes Sucks!!!

I don't like it! I don't want it! But I've got it! And once you have it, you always have it. But I can do something about it and that is what this blog is about. My journey to better health and wellness. Yes, for the rest of my life!!!

Kj is continuing to come out and run/walk with me (I'm the oldie) and we ran 2 miles and walked 4 miles then ran the last mile. It was extremely humid out but luckily, the sun was behind a large cloud for most of it. I still sweat profusely and have to keep plenty of water on hand to replenish my fluids. We came home after the two mile run so that I could get a bottle of Gatorade and I also filled up the water bottle I had taken with me from the run. It was enough to get me through the 7 miles. Now, I have to rest up for a big day tomorrow. I am still so sore from the workout at Planet Fitness the other day. It takes me many days to recouperate from the machines. When I was younger, life was so much easier and less painful!!!

Today was KJ's first of two sessions with the staff trainer at Planet Fitness. I followed them around and when she was done, KJ did some free weights while I did my upper body exercises. Karl came in while I was doing the machines and took KJ upstairs to show him the abdominal routine. Then KJ and I ran 2 miles back home on Lockwood Blvd. I'm not getting my 5 miles in that I need to keep up the 1,000 by the end of the year. I will have to figure a way to fit that in. However, the run/jog is still good for the cardiovascular and I am not able to do more than 2 miles in a row of running. Today just happened to be cutting it too close to getting dinner on the table along with the late afternoon session and run. Some goals might need adjustment.

KJ and I went to PLanet Fitness to sign him up for weightlifting. We scheduled his consultation for tomorrow morning at 8 am where he will get the full run down on the machines but we didn't workout there today. Instead we celebrated by running 2 and walking 2 in the 1 pm heat of the day. We both had our camelbaks on and we were ready to go. He ran back a minute and a half faster than I did. Now, it's time for a quick jump in the pool and then a late afternoon lunch at a new place..."Welcome to MOE'S".

Yes, the heat can be beat here...it's over 100 degrees up north!!!
