Diamonds are a girl's best friend...

Some days are like diamonds, some days are like dust...

Today was a diamond day. I got up and went to Gardening Club (I love being with these people). To get outside and help others in their gardens is a special joy to me.

Then I did my walk. I decided not to stretch before the walk as Jonah had instructed me, saying that recent findings say that stretching after the walk is actually more beneficial and causes less problems. With the pain I had been having with the walks, I decided to listen to him today. After I walked (a quicker pace than usual), I felt really good..not as much pain in the hips. I took 20 minutes to stretch out my legs, calves and hips and then did 120 sit ups. Afterwards, I felt better than I have in two weeks! I think it also had something to do with the fact that I haven't been doing any racewalking. The change in the body movements may have contributed to the hip pain or even initialized it. Now that I am back to a regular walking style, I haven't had the same pains during the walk...that is yesterday and today. That may well be the best thing I've encountered so far this year. Today I learned something important to help me keep my goals intact. May it continue indefinitely!

It's getting easier to walk quicker again without any pain. Well, minimal pain anyway. I stretched again before my walk and did 100 sit ups. Tonight I feel pretty good but I can't sit for very long. My back muscles seem to go into spasm if I sit for too long. I guess it's time for the hot salt bath. See ya'!

Massage does wonders for the body! I am still not pain free but Jonah is able to get me loosened up somewhat. I might have been better off skipping today's walk since I came straight home and walked but I needed to get out in the fresh air. Lots of emotional things going on that I need to release and walking does that for me.

I gained two lbs, sugar is above 100 and time was 3 1/2 minutes over where I want to be. Life is still good...because I can walk, and I do!!!

Hip-hip-hooray! I walked today!

Hips still sore and I know I will feel it tomorrow. I am going to take a hot salt bath tonight and do some extra stretching. Plus, I may open my book on the Mattes Method and do some of those stretches. Active Isolated Stretching is what the name of it is. Very good for your tight parts.

I did stretch pretty good by sitting on the floor before I went out and I started doing stomach crunches. So far, I've done 100 on Thursday and 100 again today. Hopefully, it will subtract from the ever decreasing size that I am getting to.
